About Church of Jasper

Our Story

Church of Jasper exists as a fellowship of believers in Jasper, Texas, drawn together by a shared faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Founded by Pastor Steve Baker, we desire to be a people shaped by Scripture rather than culture—reflecting the simplicity, community, and spiritual depth of the early church recorded in the Book of Acts.

We gather not around programs or performance, but around the person of Jesus Christ, the leading of the Holy Spirit, and the mutual encouragement of the Body of Christ. Our heart is to contend for the faith once delivered to the saints and to walk in obedience to the Lord in everyday life.

Mission

To reach out to all of God’s people with love through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, while building up the local Body of Christ through worship, the teaching of Scripture, prayer, and genuine fellowship. We seek the direction of the Holy Spirit in all things and desire to serve both our community in Jasper and the broader work of the gospel.

Vision

We long to be a church that reflects the early church—prioritizing community, righteous living, and the will of God over buildings, programs, or worldly measures of success. Our vision is to strengthen the Body of Christ in Jasper and the surrounding East Texas region, encouraging every believer toward a deeper walk with the Lord and obedience to the Holy Spirit.

Founder & Pastor

Church of Jasper was founded by Pastor Steve Baker. Under his pastoral care we gather twice weekly for fellowship and worship. Pastor Baker’s heart is to feed the flock of God, preach the whole counsel of Scripture, and lead the congregation in seeking the presence and power of the Holy Spirit.
